Duties

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety matters related to personnel and facilities
  • Implements technical safety codes, Risk Assessments/Risk Management and safety requirements for a variety of operation to include Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) compliance
  • DOD Safety and Health standards; Fire Prevention; Industrial Safety; Industrial Hygiene; Health Communication. Consults with Occupational Health and Installation Safety Officer on safety issues when needed
  • Advise supervisors and managers on matters involving accident and fire prevention.
  • Take the lead on all safety related inspections and follow up deficiencies for DFMWR facilities and programs.
  • Perform risk assessments for all DFMWR programing and special events.

Requirements

Conditions of Employment

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.

  • Tier 1 background investigation.

Qualifications

Experience that provided the basic understanding of principles and concepts of Workplace Safety.

Must have demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software.

Preferred are those candidates who are enrolled in a CP-12 safety program and are working toward completion.

Must be able to compile reports, perform analysis, present briefings, and communicate effectively orally and in writing

Education

This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
