Duties

  • Serves as the focal point for the security forces training program, coordinating and implementing all training
    activities for the unit.
  • Conducts training classes for security forces personnel.
  • Develops and monitors the accomplishment of security forces training plans and obtains and develops training aids and materials.
  • Attends, arranges, and conducts meetings, briefings, and workshops and performs other duties related to Security Forces training.
  • Ensures that all training program measures and actions taken comply with federal, DoD, Air Force, MAJCOM, and local rules, directives, instructions, requirements, and procedures.
  • Prepares lesson plans and teaches formal or informal training courses for personnel in various Security Forces functional activities in accordance with AFl's and DoD policy.

  • Department of Defense Security Physical Security Certification (PSC) conferral is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation, Certification.
  • The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative.
  • This certification requirement only applies to employees hired onto this position on or after 14 March 2016. Incumbent employees assigned on or before 13 March 2016 are not required to obtain the DoD certification(s) listed above.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year or will have one year within 120 days of closing of this announcement at least 3 years, 1 year (52 weeks) of which was equivalent to the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of general experience is to ensure that all training program measures and actions taken comply with federal, DoD, Air Force, MAJCOM, and local rules, directives, instructions, requirements, and procedures. Plans, develops, coordinates, schedules, accomplishes, and/or monitors various unit training activities to include military and civilian security forces training. Manages formal school requests, collective and sustainment training, ancillary, and recurring training. Provides assistance and guidance, both verbal and written, to concerned and involved personnel. Identifies security specialized training requirements. Schedules and/or conducts unit orientation and Phase I training and verifies completion of Phase II training for duty positions. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

EDUCATION:
Successfully completed a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official college transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified in the table, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a range of security forces policies, procedures, and practices.
2. Knowledge of overall security forces missions, functions, and structure.
3. Skill in developing course materials and instructional methods, principles, and techniques.
4. Ability to instruct training courses in a classroom seminar setting.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
6. Ability to establish effective working relationships with SF branch/section chiefs, contributing to a cooperative work environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
7. Knowledge of applicable law enforcement and security AF, Federal and DoD rules, regulations, instructions, practices, principles and procedures including force protection, integrated base defense, anti-terrorism and physical security.

Ideal Candidate: A results-oriented professional with a background in Security Forces, possessing strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and a proven ability to conduct effective formal and informal presentations.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
