You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
- Coordinating, planning and administering polygraph examinations OR
- Possessing highly developed analytical and/or investigative experience, which is used to analyze and produce detailed reports;
- Experience working in the law enforcement, intelligence or security fields, to include interview settings; AND
- Demonstrating ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
In addition to the qualifications described above, you must meet the following requirement to be considered qualified for the position:
- Incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain agency certification in conducting and reviewing polygraph examinations. Incumbent will be required to obtain certification from the National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA) for successful completion of the Psychophysiological Detection of Deception course.
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
- Providing guidance on pre-employment polygraph examinations;
- Coordinating, planning and administering polygraph examinations;
- Determining pre-employment polygraph countermeasures and their use; And
- Evaluating, analyzing, and providing guidance on testing methodologies.
In addition to the qualifications described above, you must meet the following requirement to be considered qualified for the position:
- Must be a graduate of the basic polygraph course offered by the National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA) or by its prior official designations as the Defense Academy for Credibility Assessment (DACA) or Department of Defense Polygraph Institute (DoDPI), and within the last 10 years, been certified as an active Federal polygraph examiner by an authorized Federal polygraph or credibility assessment program per respective agency and Federal standards and requirements.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
