Duties
The Senior Leader for Offensive Fires serves as the top technical authority and integrator for long-range precision strike capabilities within the Capabilities Program Executive (CPE) Offensive Fires portfolio. The position leads development, acquisition, and fielding of advanced missile and strike systems-including hypersonic weapons, Precision Strike Missile (PrSM), cannon artillery, and associated targeting and integration technologies-ensuring the Army maintains dominance in joint and multi-domain operations.
This role provides senior-level direction across the full acquisition lifecycle, from concept and prototyping through production, fielding, and sustainment. The Senior Leader directly oversees multiple high-visibility programs totaling approximately $3 billion, shaping the Army's ability to provide long-range precision strike capabilities across all echelons.
The position also serves as the principal technical advisor to Project Managers and requirements team, ensuring alignment with Army and Joint modernization priorities, particularly Long-Range Precision Fires (LRPF). The Senior Leader represents the organization in high-level reviews, congressional engagements, multinational forums, and coordination with partners across T2COM, ATEC, AMC, Joint Services, OSD, and international stakeholders.

MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATION (MTQ): Your resume should demonstrate accomplishments that would satisfy the following mandatory technical qualification.
MTQ: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in applying innovative approaches to standard and rapid acquisition processes to include services and/or products/weapon systems in accordance with current acquisition regulations and policies.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: This is a Critical Acquisition Position. Unless specifically waived by the appropriate Army official, (i.e., the Army Director of Acquisition Career Management, the Army Acquisition Executive, or the Secretary of the Army) or if the employee is Grandfathered under Chapter 87 of Title 10, United States Code (U.S.C), Section 1736(c)(1), the following are statutorily mandated requirements (Reference: 10 U.S.C. 1732 and 1737):
- Selectee must execute, as a condition of appointment, a written agreement to remain in Federal service in the position for at least three years. In signing such agreement, the employee does not forfeit any employment rights, nor does such an agreement alter any other terms or conditions of employment.
This is a Key Leadership Position (KLP), which is a subset of a
Critical Acquisition Position. The selectee
must meet all required KLP certification standards at the time of assignment or
have an approved waiver signed by the Army Acquisition Executive. This critical acquisition position
requires ADVANCED level certification in the Acquisition Functional Area of Program Management. Advanced
Level Certification must be met within 4 years from appointment.
