To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.
To qualify for the Grade 13, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-12, it must include:
- Experience participating in a position management and position classification program.
- Experience delivering technical guidance and management advisory services related to classification.
- Experience providing technical input when resolving potential conflicts with classification principles and practices.
- Experience participating in special projects and initiatives to improve HRM program(s).
To qualify for the Grade 14, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-13, it must include:
- Design, implement, and participate in overseeing a position management and position classification program.
- Develops and deliver technical guidance and management advisory services related to classification.
- Provide decision making input when resolving potential conflicts with classification principles and practices.
- Conduct, lead, and/or participate in special projects and initiatives to improve HRM program(s).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
- CUSTOMER SERVICE: Work with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; know about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
- ORAL COMMUNICATION: Express information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); make clear and convincing oral presentations; listen to others, attend to nonverbal cues, and respond appropriately.
- POSITION CLASSIFICATION: the process used to allocate a position's defined duties and responsibilities to a job standard. The position classification process involves reviewing the duties and responsibilities assigned to a position.
- PROBLEM SOLVINNG: Identify problems; determine accuracy and relevance of information; use sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
- WRITTEN COMMUNICATION: Write in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience.
For all types of consideration, experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
