In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Progressively responsible experience with the full range of payroll processing for a wide variety of standard and nonstandard pay actions requiring a
wide range of federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and instructions, federal tax calculation, federal tax documentation, and customer service concepts with little technical supervision. Progressively responsible experience with payroll or accounting, with a commercial, GAAP compliant accounting software. Experience developing training methods and preparation of training/briefing materials. Experience with interrelationship payroll processes and procedures, and an understanding of the relationship between the general ledger and payroll accounts. Experience with basic formulas in MS Excel is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Ability to comprehend payroll functions in the Air Force Services Financial Management System or commercial payroll environment.
2. Proficiency in typing and data entry keypad skills.
3. Experience with Agency accounting practices and procedures is desired.
4. Experience working with MS Office application software to produce a wide range of office documents is desired.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
