However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Ship's Administrative Specialist without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex Ship's Administrative Specialist duties. I am skilled in Handling time and leave; explaining policies about travel, benefits, and HR; ordering and receiving supplies; using communication tools like ship radios and office equipment; working on or supporting operations aboard a maritime vessel. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

- Physical Effort / Working Conditions: Incumbent regularly works and lives fourteen (14) consecutive days at a time aboard a sea-going hopper dredge; occasional trips require longer periods aboard. Accomplishment of daily work requires the ability to climb narrow stairways, move through somewhat confined spaces or across outside decks to communicate with supervisory and non-supervisory personnel aboard. Incumbent is exposed to noise in excess of 80 decibels, the effects of all types of sea conditions, inclement weather and possible falls overboard in rough seas.
