About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated Small Arms Repair Technician for the 63rd Readiness Division at Equipment Concentration Site 171 located in Barstow, California. This critical role involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining small arms to ensure they are in top operational condition, following all safety and physical security standards.

Job Duties

  • Inspect small arms for serviceability and necessary repairs
  • Disassemble weapons to diagnose malfunctions
  • Replace obsolete parts and assemblies to repair small weapons
  • Conduct operational checks and ensure maintenance completion
  • Train units on organizational deficiencies and corrective actions
  • Use hand tools and precision instruments for adjustments and measurements
  • Prepare reports on equipment failures and inventory

Requirements

  • Must be a member of the U.S. Army Reserve
  • Compliant with the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment
  • Subject to Drug Abuse Testing Program
  • Valid state driver's license required
  • Must pass medical examination prior to employment
  • Background investigation for suitability or fitness determination

Qualifications

Applicants should possess the ability to perform tasks such as: initial inspection of small weapons, disassembly, component replacement, use of hand tools and precision gauges, and preparation of reports. Experience can be demonstrated through volunteer work or equivalent paid experience.

Physical Requirements

Frequent lifting of subassemblies and small weapons (15-20 pounds) and occasional carrying of larger weapons (up to 50 pounds) is required. Work involves walking, bending, standing for long periods, and exposure to oils, solvents, and noise.
