Summary
The Rumpel Fitness Center is Ft McCoy's full-service fitness facility that features a range of cardiovascular equipment, free weights & everything needed for community members to achieve their fitness goals. The facility features a pool for lap swimming & a sauna/steam room for relaxation. The staff execute a variety of events and activities throughout the year including fitness classes, runs and basketball/volleyball tournaments.

Duties
- Provides support and assistance to the Business Recreation team in the use of equipment, materials, and facilities. Applies a practical knowledge of recreational activities and skills in the use of various types of recreation equipment.
- Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the facility equipment, to include pool, pool chemicals, and aquatics program. Recommends purchases of equipment required to maintain proper facility safety and compliance.
- Assist customers while working the front counter and lifeguarding. Ensures sufficient supplies are on hand and equipment is in good condition to support the sports and fitness programs.
- Inspects supplies and equipment. Conducts daily safety and maintenance checks of facilities, grounds, and outdoor recreation areas. Ensures compliance with health, fire, safety, facility and program regulatory requirements for the programs.
- Operates various types of equipment in support of athletic field maintenance such as lawn mowers, tractors and attachments, edging and pruning tools, trimmers, rakes and trucks.
- Applies fertilizer, seed and herbicides as needed. Collects and empties trash containers, around field as required. Maintains hand receipts and collects all inventoried items.
- Ensures facilities are properly marked/lined prior to games/practices. Performs other duties as assigned.

- Incumbent must possess a valid drivers license to drive government vehicles to travel to on and off post locations.
- Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
- Position involves walking, bending, stooping and standing on a routine basis. Lifting supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Seven-day operation. Must be able to work irregular duty hours that may include early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.

- Progressively responsible work experience that provided knowledge of equipment and facility maintenance, inventory, ordering, and instructing, and use of various recreation equipment. Good customer relations skills. Must be physically able to walk, bend, stoop, stand on a routine basis; lift supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
