To qualify for a Strategic Analyst your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
- Serving as Strategic Planner, developing policies and resolving critical issues related to policy application and implementation.
- Conducting comprehensive studies developing new approaches to workload factors, performance quality levels, and measurement techniques.
- Preparing presentations, speeches, and audience analysis for senior leadership, Congressional staff, industry, and academia.
- Providing analyst and advisory services on strategic engagements with minimal supervision.
- Planning and directing no-notice studies with broad parameters, leading cross-functional teams, and briefing findings/recommendations to senior leadership.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To be found well-qualified as an ICTAP applicant, individuals need to demonstrate experience including: Conducting special analysis of critical issues related to a variety of required and/or available resources to carry out missions and functions in the areas of logistics, research, development, acquisition and testing; Serving as the technical authority for strategic planning; Performing and reviewing strategic planning to include projects within the context of the overall long-term goals and objectives of the organization; and Providing strategic presentations, communications, and timely Agency responses that conveys the Agency's position in support of the on-going mission.
