Duties
Major Duties:
- This position is established as the Assistant District Director (ADD). The incumbent ensures that the assigned district office understands and implements the provisions of equal employment opportunity mandates under the provisions of Executive Order 11246, as amended (Executive Order); Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (Section 503); and the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974, as amended, 38 U.S.C. 4212 (VEVRAA).
- Assists the District Director (DD) in planning, prioritizing, directing, and assigning work, collaborating with peers and subordinates, including all fiduciary responsibilities, to achieve OFCCP'S mission. In the absence of the DD, the ADD may serve or act in that capacity.
- Prepares cases for scheduling and assignment and is responsible for case processing and quality.
- Ensures that professional staff conducts detailed and comprehensive analyses of federal contractors' affirmative action plans, total employment procedures, and practices to determine responsiveness to federal procurement and EEO laws, executive orders, policies, rules, and regulations.
- Directs and participates in complex investigations and may attempt to conciliate complaints of alleged discrimination in employment by federal contractors.
- Directs and participates in complex pre-award compliance reviews.
- Oversees and personally negotiates adjustment of contractor employment policies and practices that are not responsive to equal employment opportunity provisions of federal contracts including drafting conciliation agreements and letters of commitment.
- Oversees and personally negotiates and develops conciliation agreements with contractors found in violation of the regulations.
