GS-12: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in Federal Service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience that equipped you with the competencies needed to perform the job duties. Qualifying experience must demonstrate possession of each of the following competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving. Specialized experience is defined as experience configuring, installing, or managing network systems; installing Windows based servers and maintaining existing servers; assessing IT policy needs; establishing metrics to measure and evaluate systems performance; performing network diagnostics and resolving network problems; maintaining network architecture and infrastructure; installing and maintaining compatible database systems; and develops training to meet customer needs.
GS-13: To be eligible at the GS-13 level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level.

Specialized experience is defined as experience planning and designing system architecture; develops formal test plans to validate functionality and systems performance; assures software and systems quality and functionality; consults with customers to identify and specify systems requirements; conducts feasibility analyses; ensures the integration of all systems components, e.g. procedures, databases, policies, software and hardware; plans systems implementation.
