Summary

This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Performance Planning and CFO in Denver, CO. The incumbent serves as the Director of
Financial Systems Division (FSD) and supports Oracle Federal Financials, PRISM contract management system and Budget and Acquisition planning and reporting systems, as well as management and oversight on infrastructure requirements across financial systems and within the government.

Duties

As a Supervisory IT Specialist at the GS-2210-15, some of your typical work assignments may include:

IT Program Management - Manages the work of the office in support of the Director by ensuring the application of procedures, requirements, regulations and policies related to financial systems and internal controls to agency systems. Manages and leads projects to modify, enhance, and implement financial systems using appropriate SDLC standards and governance. Prepare high-level project plans and schedules through using his/her mastery knowledge of and skill in the development, integration and implementation of large-scale financial systems.

System Development - Ensures application of and compliance with technology governance standards as they relate to federal financial systems; leads the development and execution of appropriate governance processes and procedures over financial systems; and defines FSD policy and processes to comply with federal financial system standards. Ensures that financial systems operations are sufficient to achieve compliance with both finance
and accounting regulatory requirements and information technology standards for federal financial systems; and supports the financial statement audit, internal controls audits, and certification and accreditation of financial systems using Solaris/Unix and Windows platforms.

Supervisory Duties - Performs the full range of supervisory responsibilities including: providing administrative and technical supervision to subordinate staff.

Qualifications

GS-15: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector: 1. Advising leadership on management of IT systems; AND 2. Developing policies that support program objectives; management of systems that support agency mission.

(4) PROBLEM SOLVING - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 (Alternative A)

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

TIME-IN-GRADE: If you are a current career or career-conditional federal employee applying for promotion under Merit Promotion you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in positions at the next level lower than the position being filled
