Duties
Major duties:
Mastery level knowledge, skills and abilities required by the incumbent to successfully fulfill the major duties and perform the tasks required for this position include:
- Collect and maintain data needed to meet system cybersecurity reporting ensure that protection and detection capabilities are acquired or developed using the IS security engineering approach and are consistent with organization level cybersecurity architecture.
- Manage the monitoring of information security data sources to maintain organizational situational awareness.
- Participate in the development or modification of the computer environment cybersecurity program plans and requirements.
- The incumbents' work contributes directly to the success of OIT ESO's information security program.
- The incumbent's mastery knowledge of project management concepts and methods contribute to or independently develops plans, policies, and other materials whose purpose is to communicate security information at the area, network and ESO levels.
- Plans directs coordinates and controls all IT related technical and administrative work aspects of the division to which assigned within the office of information technology enterprise security operations.
- Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies.
- Knowledge of risk management process.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and ethics as they relate to cyber security and privacy.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles.
- Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
- Knowledge of specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses.
- Knowledge of encryption algorithms.
- Knowledge of data backup and recovery.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles used to manage risks related to the use processing storage and transmission of information or data.
- Ability to apply techniques for detecting hosts and network-based intrusions using intrusion detection technologies.
- Ability to identify critical infrastructure systems with information communication technology that were designed without system security considerations.
- Advise senior management on risk levels and security posture.

- CSC: 722 - Responsible for the cybersecurity of a program, organization, system, or enclave
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; typically 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Tour of duty will be determined based on organizational needs)

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary in nature. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Working Conditions: The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions.
