What will I do in this position if hired?
This position is located in the Office of the Chief Information Officer, Office of the Chief Information Security Officer. This position will serve as the Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC). Duties of the position will include the following:
- Researching, reviewing, and implementing security systems that protect FEMA's information technology (IT) network enterprise.
- Developing and maintaining security architecture reference documentation, including security models, frameworks, and diagrams.
- Collaborating with engineering teams, operations and risk management on organizational security policy settings and implementations.
- Leading the discovery and fusion of new or emerging technology to achieve FEMA's zero trust roadmap goals.

Qualifications
The qualification requirements listed below must be met within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
To qualify for this position at the GS-15 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:
- Rendering decisions on resolution of Information Security issues; and
- Promoting awareness of security issues and sound security principles; and
- Providing guidance on policies or procedures that ensure information systems reliability or accessibility to prevent or defend against unauthorized access to systems.
In addition to the above specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
