Duties
This position is located at Department of Commerce OIG, Office of Audit and Evaluation. As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Information Security), you will be responsible for planning and managing evaluations of systems development, acquisition, operations, and IT security in all DOC bureaus, as well as for evaluating the DOC's performance of its information resources management responsibilities. .
As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Information Security), you will:
- Oversee the security assessment program including security controls, system architecture implementations, and organizational and system risk management decisions ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all the Department's systems, networks, and data.
- Develop OAE input to reviews of selected existing and proposed legislation and regulations related to DOC programs and operations, for the purpose of providing the Assistant Inspector General for Audit and Evaluation and the Inspector General with appropriate recommendations as to the impact these activities have on the economy and efficiency in the administration of program and operations administered or financed by DOC relating to securing the Department's systems and data.
- Prepare technical articles and instructional material on specialized approaches and techniques for the guidance of staff members and maintains personal contacts with members of professional societies to keep abreast of new developments, trends, and techniques relating to financial, compliance, management and program audits and evaluations.

Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience for this position includes ALL of the following:
-Providing technical guidance to organization managers or executives to identify functional requirements related to cybersecurity and privacy protection performance; AND
-Analyzing issues related to the establishment of Information Technology (IT) policies regarding cybersecurity research, engineering, technical services, and information management; AND
-Supervising and coordinating ongoing reviews involving enterprise security architecture, federal requirements compliance programs, and the Department's High-Value Assets (HVAs) management; AND
-Communicating ideas, concepts, and plans to non-technical staff and other stakeholders.
In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.
