Basic Requirement: This position has a basic entry requirement. The entry requirement requires completion of education or a combination of education and experience sufficient to be comparable to that normally acquired through the completion of a four year course of study with a major in the professional or scientific field. In addition to meeting the Basic Qualifications requirement above, to qualify for this position you must
also meet the Specialized Experience listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) overseeing a planning program comprised of multiple planning studies; AND 2) preparing high-quality reports, technical assessments, or planning documents that are policy compliant for civil works planning activities; AND 3) supervising, managing, or providing leadership to a team of technical staff.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
