TERM APPOINTMENT INFORMATION:
Position may be filled as Term Appointment NTE 366 days. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with NO statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

Experience Required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled including: Supervising a civilian workforce (e.g., distributing workload, identifying training needs, evaluating work performance of subordinates, resolving first-level grievances and complaints from employees, interviewing candidates for positions, etc.); Assisting in developing strategic plans/policies for Directorate level programs; Analyzing/evaluating programs/policies/procedures for continuous process improvement; Overseeing Directorate budget formulation and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) submissions to ensure budget allocations are not exceeded and projects are funded. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
