GS-09 Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. F
or a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
Examples of specialized experience include but are not limited to: gathering information, identifying and analyzing issues, developing recommendations to resolve substantive problems of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in a program or program support setting; the incumbent's knowledge requires skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues of a procedural nature which are readily observable and subject to written guidelines. Work requires knowledge of HAS operations to manage recurring and ongoing training needs and to resolve individual performance measures. At this level, the incumbent deals with daily operational issues and does not analyze or evaluate overall operations, major issues, goals, and objectives. The work involves applying established methods to system application problems and referring
problems not resolvable at the user end.

Examples of specialized experience include but are not limited to: gathering information, identifying and analyzing issues, developing recommendations to resolve substantive problems of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in a program or program support setting, application of qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques that frequently require modification to fit a wider range of variables; responsible for providing a high level of administrative support to the health administration service, upper management, and other clinical services. This includes/involves: the provision of supervision and oversight to an officially established subordinate work unit of Lead/Advanced Medical Support Assistants; the management of programs related to Outpatient Administrative Support (e.g., medical support staff for Scheduling Operations (Coastal) for Primary Care, Behavioral Health, and Specialty Care clinics etc.); by performing various administrative duties/functions related to the health administration services and its services/programs.

Note:
A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements: The work of this position is primarily performed in a normal office/clinical setting. The work areas are adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
