Basic Requirements for Supervisory Physician Assistant:
Education: Graduation from a physician assistant educational program, accredited by the Accreditation Review Committee on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors, at a college, university, or educational institution that is accredited by an accrediting body or organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
In addition to meeting the basic requirements above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
GS-13 Experience: A minimum of one full year of work experience as a certified physician assistant which includes preparing and conducting lectures, practical exercises and small group instructions directed towards clinical situations in relationship to combat trauma and critical care paramedic in areas of concern to the students; Developing and preparing lesson plans, and instructional materials and program evaluations as required for military occupational specialties and departmental training; Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of advanced medical subjects (standards of care) and National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians - Paramedic (NREMT-P) processes, practices, and procedures and applying that knowledge in decisions associated with the Program of Instruction (POI). Experience advising, counseling, and instructing employees on work and administrative matters; hear and resolve complaints; and adjusts work procedures to accommodate decisions to complete mission and course objectives. This definition of experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
