- Knowledge of sustainability and LEED to apply experimental theories and new developments to problems not treatable by accepted methods and to make decisions and recommendations that require significant changes, interpretation or development of important public policies or programs.
- Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) knowledge including: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy & Atmosphere, Materials & Resources and Indoor Environmental Quality and skills necessary to support and encourage integrated design, and to streamline the application and certification process.
- Skill in interpersonal relations and in written and oral communications required to explain and negotiate the requirements and implementation of sustainability and LEED initiatives and activities; to present sensitive recommendations to higher authority; to obtain compliance with policies from local activities; to articulate positions/policy of vast technical Complexity and to represent the region and agency on task forces.
- Technical knowledge and ability to effectively lead other team personnel in accomplishing major project tasks and milestones.
- Skill in communications, motivation, and cultivation of team work and skill instilling collaborative practices in project management and execution.
