We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Supervisory Psychiatrist to join our team in the Outpatient Mental Health section at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Tennessee Valley Healthcare System. You will be a part of a highly integrated, interdisciplinary program providing evidence-based psychiatric treatment to our valued veterans.

Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric treatment for veterans, using Tele-Mental Health as appropriate.
- Utilize skills in Psychotherapy and Psychopharmacology for comprehensive patient care.
- Work with community facilities for effective discharge planning and follow-up.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation requirements and document patient care.
- Participate in and lead treatment teams for collaborative patient management.
- Conduct compensation and pension examinations as needed.
- Respond to critical incidents and engage in administrative stretch assignments.
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 0730-1600. Alternative schedules may be considered.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Full, unrestricted medical license
- Completed accredited psychiatry residency
- Board certified or eligible with DEA registration
- Proficient in written and spoken English
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with mental health law and procedures
- BLS certification
