Duties

  • Develops, manages, maintains and administers the installation Outdoor Recreation Program and facilities.
  • Plans, supervises and directs outdoor recreation activities and services which may constitute a year-round or seasonal program.
  • Devises, improvises, and adapts these various activities to fit the conditions of the natural environment, and to conform to limitations in funds, facilities, equipment, and staff support.
  • Prepares appropriated and Non appropriated budgets and monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Integrates risk management, and installation and organization safety program requirements into everyday operations and activities.
  • Supervises recreation, administrative support and maintenance staff.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
  • Incumbent also may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities. (Environmental requirements, licenses, background checks, etc.)
  • Preferred are those applicants that possess a Certified Leisure Professional through National Recreation and Park Association.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Work experience performing accounting support duties as described above.

HIGHLY PREFERRED / HIGHLY QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have at least 2 years Director experience supervising and managing an Outdoor Recreation Program.
2. Experience as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
3. Experience developing annual operating budgets, submitting contracts for procuring products and services.
4. Experience with the Government Purchase Card Program.

Education

A bachelor's degree in the recreation/outdoor program areas from an accredited college or university.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is in the Government's interest.
Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a pay-banded position.
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
