Summary

About the Position: This position is located at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Gordon, GA. The position oversees the Medical Expense and Performance Reporting System (MEPRS) cost, workload, and performance reporting to support healthcare operations, resource management, and decision making. Provides supervisory oversight, technical direction, and system coordination to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Duties

  • Provides oversight and assistance to ensure accurate and timely submission of statistical data and expense information used for cost assignment and performance measurement.
  • Analyzes resource utilization, productivity, unit and total costs, management indicators, work center outputs, and manhours to identify issues or potential problem areas.
  • Plans, organizes, and executes MEPRS data collection, processing, and reporting in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Directs, approves, and provides training and instructional materials to personnel engaged in MEPRS data collection and maintenance.
  • Performs audits and data integrity analysis for automated healthcare systems.
  • Coordinates problem resolution, software/hardware issues, and system integrity with system managers and designated personnel.
  • Supervises the MEPRS Branch within the Resource Management Division. Directs on the job training for employees and ensures cross training to maintain continuity of operations.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position is subject to TDY or business travel requirements to various locations. This may require travel via privately owned vehicles, commercial transport platforms, and/or military aircraft, ships, and vehicles.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
  • The incumbent must complete training and meet position requirements for certification at Level 2 within 2 years of appointment. Failure to obtain and maintain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
  • This position is required to be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations (hepatitis, influenza, etc.), unless exempted by a licensed physician.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience 1) analyzing data such as resource utilization, productivity, workload outputs, and unit costs to identify trends and problem areas; and 2) reviewing financial reports to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies; and 3) utilizing automated databases such as Medical Expense and Performance Reporting System (MEPRS) to conduct cost and trend analyses in support of business development and strategic planning, and 4) providing guidance to commanders, leaders, and staff on program requirements, methodologies, and best practices. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
