Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting inspections of Medical, Dental, and Veterinary hazardous materials, hazardous waste, regulated medical waste, and radiation safety programs to identify and evaluate environmental health hazards; supervising assigned professional and technical staff; conducting investigations to determine source for outbreaks of diseases resulting from contaminated food and water and/or improper waste management; developing, scheduling, and conducting training to employees and supervisors including but not limited to food safety, hazard materials, hazardous waste, regulated medical waste, radiation safety and the use of personal protective equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
