Summary

This position is located within Commander, Mid-Atlantic Region, Fleet and Family Readiness Program. The purpose of this position is to supervise the efficient operation of the snack bar in the assigned facility.

This position is located at the Eagle Haven Golf club's "Pub 19".

Duties


Responsible for the efficient operation of the snack bar, which includes equipment maintenance and repair, supervision of staff, cleanliness of the snack bar and adjoining areas and compliance with all cash handling, sanitation, fire and safety regulations. Ensures the proper receipt and storage of requisitioned items and enforces established internal controls and prevent pilferage in the facility. Promptly reports shortages to the supervisor and assists in investigations. Maintains adequate stock levels, requisitions merchandise in accordance with policies an performs periodic inventories. Supervises and coordinates the preparation and sale of food and beverage items, ensuring proper preparation, portion and quality control, and the display and pricing of food items. Personally, observes snack bar operations to ensure courteous and efficient service to the customer. May be required to prepare and cook customer order, ensuring proper portion control and presentation to cover staff shortages. May operate a cash register, ring sales and provide correct change to the customer. At the end of shift, completes the Daily Activity Report (DAR), ensures all cash handling/reporting/securing requirements are met, verifies the amount of money collected and drops the cashier bag into the drop safe. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Controls

Directly supervise some or all of the following: up to (15) NA2/3/4 Service Workers; up to (3) NA6/7/8 Cooks and up to (2) NF2 Snack Bar Operators. Prepares work schedules, directs and checks daily work, approves/disapproves leave, provides training, evaluates performance and recommends for awards and/or corrective or disciplinary actions as indicated. Prepares requests for personnel action (SF-52) and verifies time cards in accordance with local direction. May screen, interview, and recommend applicants for hire.

  • Work may be subject to an irregular tour of duty, to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Some lifting of 45 lbs. without assistance may be required while performing physical inventories or in accepting/moving supplies and/or equipment.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate possesses the following:

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and possess a minimum of 3 or more years documented food service experience with increasing responsibilities and a minimum of 1 year documented leader/supervisory experience.

Must possess a basic understanding of all policies and procedures relating to expenditure and accountability of funds and procurement, internal controls and disposition of property.

Must possess positive written and verbal communication skills to deal effectively with subordinates, supervisory/management officials and customers.

Must possess basic math skills to compute changes, make change accurately and prepare reports.

Education

This position does not have a positive education requirement.
