Clarification from the agency

Duties

  • The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of clerical and assistant work in support of the work of the organization.
  • The incumbent is the central source of information with regard to certain functions necessary for the efficiency of operations, such as automation support, telecommunications, document processing, mail, and timekeeping.
  • Under general supervision, uses knowledge of the organizations programs, policies, procedures, precedents, and regulatory guidelines, and exercises independent judgment in providing this administrative support to a program management organization.
  • Performs help desk functions involving customer automation support by receiving calls, answering technical questions and making referrals for assistance as necessary.
  • Prepares a variety of administrative reports, technical correspondence, written documents, or graphs.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. A yearly physical is required.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Must possess a valid US Driver's license with the ability to obtain and maintain a valid US Army Europe (USAREUR) Certificate of license. License must be obtained within 30 days of arrival on site.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
1. Must have experience performing work consisting of standard and nonstandard assignments involving different and unrelated steps, processes, and methods.
2. A knowledge of rules, operations, and practices of the job is required.
3. Must possess a driver's license and be able to lift and carry packages, weighing, on occasion, up to 70 pounds.
4. Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
5. Must be able to operate office automation equipment and prepare and edit documents.
6. Must have knowledge of computers and telecommunications devises.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
-Experience with distribution and logistics of newspapers and print publications to include tracking of inventory and restocking of materials.
