WHO CAN APPLY:
GROUP I - In order to be eligible for this position you must be a Warrant Officer (W4/CW4 - W5/CW5) or a Commissioned Officer (O-1/2LT - O-4/MAJ) in the Virginia Army National Guard Military Technician Program.
GROUP II - All qualified Virginia Army National Guard Male/Female a Warrant Officer (W4/CW4 - W5/CW5) or a Commissioned Officer (O-1/2LT - O-4/MAJ), regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period.
Military Grades: a Warrant Officer (W4/CW4 - W5/CW5) or a Commissioned Officer (O-1/2LT - O-4/MAJ)
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have experience or training which demonstrates the ability to provide overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities and functions, participate with management officials in the planning and establishment of long-range work requirements and schedules, and serving as the highest-level subject matter expert in the organization for work accomplished.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 36 months of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the WS-14 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the WS grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as:
- Ensuring accomplishment of work operations which because of their scope, volume, and complexity are planned on a year or longer basis.
- Explaining work requirements to subordinate supervisors, setting deadlines and sequence of operations.
- Recommending promotion or reassignment of subordinate supervisors and reviewing personnel actions prepared by supervisors.
- Developing, publishing, and ensuring employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised.
