The United States Space Force (USSF) at Eglin AFB, Okaloosa, FL (Site C-6) is searching for a System Analyst for the 20 SPSS (NH-0854-03, GS-12/13 equivalent).

The 20th Space Surveillance Squadron (20 SPSS) is seeking a highly skilled Computer Engineer and System Analyst to serve as a senior technical authority on cutting-edge radar systems. In this critical role, you will be at the forefront of defense technology, leading the analysis, research, and development of large-scale, computer-controlled phased-array radars. Your work will directly impact our mission to detect, track, and monitor space assets, ensuring continuous, critical situational awareness for the Department of Defense and key interagency partners like NASA.

You will tackle complex challenges across hardware, system, and application software layers, driving technical solutions from the initial software development lifecycle all the way through operational implementation. Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate should have experience analyzing large, computer-controlled, phased-array radar systems. They must demonstrate deep expertise in embedded real-time software, computational radar simulations, and the software development lifecycle to support the 20th Space Surveillance Squadron (20 SPSS). Additionally, the candidate must hold or be eligible to obtain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance, secure a DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance certification within six months of assignment, and exhibit the exceptional analytical and communication skills necessary to brief senior DoD and NASA leadership.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Professional knowledge of computer engineering or computer scientist embedded real-time software systems, multiple operating systems, computational radar simulations and modeling, advanced mathematical analysis, and integrated computer software and hardware systems using multiple programming languages, and desired to have a graduate level degree in a scientific and engineering area or related discipline.
2. Thorough knowledge of the electronic principles for detection and tracking radar with specialized knowledge and skills peculiar to computer controlled phased array radar. The experience should include experience in research and development, and operations and maintenance for a large, phased array radar system. A minimum of three (3) years of system analysis experience directly associated with a computer controlled large, phased array radar system is highly desirable.
3. Ability to isolate causes of problems between hardware, system, and applications software segments, and to measure system performance and/or extend operating system capabilities to support organizational processes and operations; ability to plan, organize, and re-prioritize work and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and architects, and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and maintain good working relations.
4. Knowledge of software development life cycles, including system documentation, system requirements and techniques, design development, configuration management cost benefit analysis, systems analysis, unprecedented design methodologies, data administration, systems integration, and testing.
5. Ability to gather facts and use analytical and evaluative methods to assess requirements; apply CASE tools to design and development processes; deviate from traditional methods; and solve a variety of complex or intricate computer software problems; ability to analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures in a variety of situations and recommend timely and economical solutions; and to plan, conduct, and record site/facility surveys and inspections.
6. Knowledge of duties related to engineering support for operations and maintenance of real property facilities and utilities such as electrical, mechanical, corrosion control, energy, EMCS, fuel systems, utility contracts, and HVAC systems.
7. Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques used in team building; establishes team performance goals and assessing team progress; and providing effective team training to electronic technicians; knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, and/or technical orders.
