Duties

***This is a Title 5 National Guard Employee position description.***

This position is located at the ANG Wing with/or without geographically separated units (GSU)/ ARNG Region located in a State that is divided into multiple regions (within the State) not servicing one specific BDE. This position serves as the implementer of the Integrated Primary Prevention (IPP) Program. Due to the specialty nature of these roles this position reports to the Joint Force Headquarter Primary Prevention Officer. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Primary Prevention Specialist in a developmental capacity, performing assignments designed to further develop applicable analytical and evaluative skills and techniques. This is a developmental position leading to the full performance position description T0028000. All training must be completed, and regulatory requirements met prior to non-competitive promotion.

Work involves supervising or performing work required to manage or direct one or more programs, including appropriate supporting social science service organizations.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): This is a Title 5 "Excepted Service " position under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)", and is open to US citizens interested in helping the Department of the Army meet our mission requirements.

Area 1: Current employees (Tenure 1 and 2 / internal to the Agency)
Area 2: All other applicants (external to the Agency)


*Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and are not eligible for Area 1.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences.
Or
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences.
Or
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources. Must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of social science program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions.


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES:

1. The incumbent of this position description must have, at a minimum, a completed National Agency.

2. Irregular and overtime hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.

3. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
