Summary

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

It is in the SUPERVISION/MANAGEMENT Work Category at the SENIOR Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - OC/INFRASTRUCTURE DIRECTORATE.

Duties

  • Performs the full range of supervisory duties, organizing and directing activities including: managing a staff, planning work to be accomplished, setting priorities and scheduling work to be completed within the branch.
  • Serves as a technical authority with the understanding to perform or analyze qualitative and quantitative analysis in efforts to assess and improve network implementation and installation programs and its effectiveness.
  • Performs contract administration functions by approving technical requirements, reviewing and approving costs, and developing technical specifications.
  • Monitoring contractor work in progress to ensure Agency standards are met. Accepts or rejects work products from contractors.
  • Directs, coordinates, and/or oversees work including installation plans, schedules, and management of resources to execute delivery of DISA services to the Agency and its customers.

  • This is a drug testing designated position. Individuals tentatively selected will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement and random drug testing after appointment.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Basic Requirements:

Education

Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled.

OR

Experience

Experience in evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology.

AND
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience planning work to be accomplished AND experience performing analysis to assess and improve network implementation and installation programs.

Education

To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education .

Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services at the time of application.
