Duties

***THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POISITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP***

This position is located in an Air National Guard Wing, Mission Support Group, Security Forces (SF) Squadron. The primary purpose of this position is to manage deployment and logistical assets to ensure productive and effective utilization of materiel funding and requirements for all Security Forces tasks and responsibilities.

1. Directs, obtains, maintains, and provides for proper usage of Security Forces equipment in order to meet unit objectives. Tracks operational and performance data on tools and equipment to provide feedback for appropriate activity.

2. Manages SF equipment accounts. Requisitions all materials, equipment, and services necessary to support the function, to include self-help projects. Requires a high level of expertise and knowledge of specialized equipment and determines suitable substitutes.

Maintains and utilizes current federal supply catalogs, stock lists, GSA catalogs, cross-reference lists, commercial manufacturer's parts lists, and catalogs. Performs research to identify items by stock number or stock class, part number, item specifications, quantity, availability, recommends source of procurement, unit price, total cost, and sole source justification, as applicable.

Monitors, controls, and manages computerized status files concerning tools, equipment, and materials on order. Performs quality assurance by reviewing management data to ensure materials and tools are returned in a timely manner.

Conducts extensive research for information pertaining to complex and unusual supplies parts and transactions. Retrieves and requests data retrievals for use in program reviews and validation of items on order

3. Performs trend analysis of past utilization of supplies and other materials to identify and determine future requirements. Records expenditures and maintains current on-hand balances.

4. Manages and directs programs in support of SF deployment requirements. As the Unit Deployment Manager, serves as the primary point of contact between deployment work centers for all deployable assets. Establishes a mobility bag management program.

5. Coordinates movement of equipment and material by all modes of transportation. Manages the Material Safety data Sheet master file. Ensures hazardous and sensitive materials or equipment are properly stored, labeled, and proper disposal procedures are followed. Ensures safety equipment is on hand and serviceable.

6. Operates and manages SF storage facilities, to include geographically separated units and training sites. Reports material status of work order and job order requirements. Develops and manages a program to ensure material and tool discipline is maintained in all SF cost centers.

7. Performs vehicle control responsibilities. Determines vehicle requirements, monitors vehicle status and training programs and reports and investigates incidents. Attends vehicle authorization and utilization board meeting.

8. Provides munitions forecasting data for SF requirements in coordination with the NCOIC of Combat Arms.

9. Performs and enforces the full range of SF duties within the military installation. Apprehends and detains violators of laws, rules, and regulations and turns them over to the Federal, civil police, or other law enforcement officers for arrest and posting of collateral.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E1 - E7

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Specialized Experience time requirements of 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Knowledge of logistics management principles, organizational theory, and techniques of analysis and evaluation. Knowledge of standardized logistics practices and procedures to conduct studies to identify, analyze, and recommend solutions to problems in structure, staffing, procedures, work processes or workload distribution. Knowledge of required logistical actions sufficient to develop and maintain training support and deployment plans. Knowledge of logistical readiness factors and the effects that equipment availability, serviceability, and compatibility have on the overall logistics readiness of the organization. Knowledge and understanding of Air force, National Guard, and gaining command organizational structure, missions and responsibilities.

Education

You must meet the following Education requirement to qualify for this position:

GS-09
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related

AND

1 year equivalent to at least GS-7

Graduate Education: Education at the graduate level in an accredited college or university in the amounts shown in the table meets the requirements for positions at GS-7 through GS-11. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.

Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended.

You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
