Duties
***THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POSITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP***
This position serves as the Logistics Officer for all supply and maintenance matters at an Annual/Weekend Training Site. Serves as the Logistics Officer on the staff of the Training Site Supervisor at a State Operated Training Site.
1. Responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating activities in the support of the Post, Camp and Station property; area cantonment; petroleum products; munitions; and subsistence service, to facilitate conducting annual or weekend training at the site.
2. Supervises all technicians, contract employees, and temporary employees engaged in logistical support of the site to include subsistence, ammunition, and billeting.
3. Receives requirements/reports from various organizations for ammunition; Post, Camp and Station property; subsistence; janitorial and housekeeping supplies; petroleum products; medical supplies; and other materials to support repair and maintenance of real property. Programs orders to have all supplies on hand at the time they are needed, and initiates requirements to supporting agencies.
4. Directs activities pertaining to property accounting and responsibility, supply economy, supply discipline, maintenance of pertinent records and salvage and protection of supply items. Initiates and coordinates instructions to insure the proper training of subordinates in all matters related to supply functions.
5. Responsible for the preparation and timely submission of reports of petroleum serviceability and consumption; ammunition reports covering forecasts iron training commands, expenditures and reports of malfunctions to higher headquarters to include HQ, FORSCOM.
6. Responsible for the procurement and distribution of topographical maps of the Training Site and vicinity.
7. Establishes procedures for the uniform inventory of subsistence and ammunition items at the close of each two week training period to insure necessary stocks are available for the ensuing periods. Establishes systematic procedures for final inventory of all non-expendable materiel at the close of the training season. Reports excess materiel not required by the Training Site to the Logistics Division of the USPFO for disposition.
8. Responsible for the orderly check-out and check-in of cantonment area buildings, administrative facilities and PC&S equipment to organizations conducting winter training, weekend training and summer Annual Training.
9. Formulates the logistical support procedures covering the operation of activities under his supervision. Directs the publication, assemblage and distribution of all training site logistical directives, training site menus, maps, overlays, and telephone directives for weekend training and Annual Training periods. Responsible for the preparation of all standard operating procedures, correspondence, requisition follow-up, invitation for local vendor bidding and local purchase documents emanating from the Training Site Logistics Branch.
10. Applies sound management practices in the utilization of all resources, i.e., equipment, facilities, funds, manpower, space, and time, to effect expeditious and economical accomplishment of all tasks related to the logistical mission of the Site and the military organizations assigned and/or training. Responsible for the operation of the field ration mess, transient officers billets and cash collections of the Training Site.
11. Plans and coordinates commercial telephone requirements for organizations in training to include connect and disconnect dates. Responsible for the preparation and distribution of the internal training site telephone directory.
12. Communicates with organizations scheduled to utilize facilities at the Site on matters of policy and directives and furnishes advice on policy and operations. Attends conferences and meetings with NGB personnel, other governmental agencies, higher headquarters,
