In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level (or equivalent in other pay systems) in federal service which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position being filled. Specialized experience is experience which includes assisting and resolving a variety of aerial port problems, questions, or situations through planning, monitoring, and coordinating assigned aerial port programs.

EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. To combine education and experience, determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPT.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a varied range of aerial transportation concepts, principles, practices to include aerial transportation policies and operations, supervisory roles, training program, deployment processes, budget and resource management.
2. Knowledge of aerial transportation mission capabilities and directives to assist in the management and implementation of programs for the organization.
3. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to solve issues and/or formulate solutions to complex aerial transportation problems.
4. Knowledge of and skill in using automated systems to prepare reports and extract data from them and the ability to analyze automated products to determine adequacy of program and/or deficiencies.
5. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of support functions/organization segments to meet mission requirements and organizational objectives within available resource constraints.
6. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly concisely and with technical accuracy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
