Physical Demands: The nature of the work is primarily sedentary. The work requires long periods of sitting or standing in one position at a computer terminal, intense concentration, and working at top speed for several hours at a time. There are frequent demands for rapid decision making. The incumbent may be under constant degrees of stress. The work environment is intense, with multiple voice and data messages and alerts arriving at the same time and requiring immediate response and listening to voices of various levels of intensity talking.
The ability to hear and to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, is paramount. There is some degree of light to moderate lifting and bending required during movement of materials and supply restocking. Shift work or non- standard tours of duty are involved or maybe required. The incumbent may be required to work holidays and weekends. The incumbent is an essential employee, therefore is required to come to work on time, regardless of weather conditions.
Additionally, in exigent circumstances, the incumbent may be required to work past a normal end of shift to maintain the efficiency of the National Park Service. Incumbent must be able to speak clearly in English. Travel associated with occasional site visits may require some walking and climbing. Must be able to respond to after hour callouts.
Working Conditions: The work area is in an open space which also contains computer workstations, alarm equipment, and radio equipment. Work is performed primarily in the dispatch center where control and direction must be maintained during emergency situations. Work is normally performed in a specialized office setting. Multi-channel radios are continuously monitored, and multi-line telephones constantly ring, resulting in frequent periods of excessive and constant noise. Demands by internal and external customers during peak incident loads will be demanding. This creates a potentially hectic and stressful work environment.
Incumbent must be able to concentrate on work projects amidst noise, interruptions, and the movements of others. Some exposure to hazards occurs in flying, inspections, and field trips required by the job.

must submit ALL SF-50s and performance information for each period of temporary/term employment that qualifies for LMWFA. Performance documentation can be obtained by contacting the supervisors for the positions you served in during your 24 months. If they did not complete performance appraisals ask them to provide a statement of performance for
each period of service. The statement must specify the dates for each employment period and your level of performance consistent with your SF_50s.
