Qualifications
Work experience that demonstrated the ability to produce, stage, or direct theatrical performances or events such as pageants, play festivals, or musicals. Instruct in or serve as a specialist in one or more of the theater arts such as: (1) direction, (2) technical production such as lighting design and execution, scenic and costume design and construction, and makeup, (3) dance production such as choreography, dance drama, and ritual healer, (4) performance techniques such as acting, dancing, and dramatic pantomime, (5) playwriting, (6) play or music theater production, or (7) theater administration, management, or promotion.
Best Qualified Criteria
1. A bachelor's or higher level degree in theatre, technical theatre, or arts administration.
2. Minimum of 5 years experience in performing arts management, including but not limited to: season selection and planning, marketing, box office administration and sales, volunteer management, policy and procedure development and enforcement, special events planning, and producing live performance events.
3. Minimum of 3 years experience directing theatrical productions.
4. Experience in technical theatre such as set design and construction, costume design and construction, stage lighting design and operation, and sound design and operation.
