Duties
- Operates a field-type tractor with attached and towed equipment. Plans the order in which work is to be accomplished; transports materials and equipment; and digs, loads, plants, clears, mows and dispenses liquid and solid materials.
- May operate under different or extreme conditions such as mud, snow, and areas where trees and shrubs present operational hazards or on uneven ground where skill and expertise are required for safe operation.
- Performs maintenance on field-type tractors and attached and towed equipment.
- Makes multiple connections between the tractor and attached or towed equipment. Adjusts the equipment for job requirements such as setting the height of mower blades, depth of plow blades, and the rate of application of sprayer attachments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Conditions of Employment

- Must have and retain valid driver's license.
- Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry moderate to heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to frequently use continuing arm and leg movements to operate tractor and other equipment controls.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government motor vehicle permit if needed.
Qualifications
- One (1) year of work experience operating and performing maintenance on a field-type tractor and associated equipment.
- Skilled in the operation and manipulation of equipment controls while compensating for rough terrain features (steep hills, ravines, holes and ditches).
- Must have and retain valid driver's license.
May be required to obtain a Government motor vehicle operator's permit.
