The United States Space Force (USSF) at Schriever Space Force Base (Colorado Springs) is searching for a Training Management Course Director for the 8 Combat Training Sq (NH-1750-03, GS-12/13 equivalent).
Description:
To serve as an instructional system developer for Ready Space Crew functional courses in the 8th Training Squadron, Curriculum/Faculty Development Flight responsible for the development, implementation, and management of training concepts, programs, and procedures to meet instructional requirements. This position is responsible for the design, development, and validation of effective instructional programs, training literature, and measurement instruments for military and civilian students.
Ideal Candidate:
An Ideal candidate will possess the required Office of Personnel Management (OPM) approved degree.
This degree will include or will be supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled.
The course work must have included study in at least four of the following five areas:
1. Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology: Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material.
2. Instructional design practices: Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness.
3. Educational evaluation: Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments.
4. Instructional product development: Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training.
5. Computers in education and training: Study of the application of computers in education and training, including selecting appropriate computer software.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Professional knowledge of learning theory and the principles, methods, practices and techniques of the instructional systems field to administer, advise on, design, develop, or provide educational or training services informal training programs.
2. Knowledge of training resources programs, principles and policies.
3. Ability to compose and deliver both written and oral presentations.
4. Ability to analyze problems related to instructional material or support equipment and develop timely and economical solutions such as develop finished products including lesson plans, training texts, television programs,programmed texts, or computer assisted instruction.
5. Ability to work effectively and constructively with various groups in accomplishing assigned projects in both lead and follower capacity.

7. Ability to encourage new ideas and innovations and information resources strategically and build coalitions to achieve common goals.
