WHO CAN APPLY:
GROUP I - All qualified Male/Female Enlisted Members (E5/SGT - E7/SFC), currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Army National Guard Military Technician Program.
GROUP II - All qualified Virginia Army National Guard Male/Female Enlisted Members (E5/SGT - E7/SFC), regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period.
Military Grades: Enlisted Personnel (E5/SGT - E7/SFC)
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have experience, education, or training functioning as the senior NCO within the operations and training area. Under the direction of the Training Officer this position oversees and ensures the accomplishment of work performed in the areas of operations and training management.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 12 months experience of specialized experience, education, and training, equivalent to at least the GS-08 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government? This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as:
- Providing technical guidance and assistance to subordinate elements, the headquarters operations section, and other staff sections in planning, coordinating, preparing, conducting, and documenting individual and collective training.
- Serving as the technical specialist in readiness reporting for the organization.
- Managing and overseeing the administration of the command's school program
- Making recommendations and assisting in the preparation of yearly training budget requirements for submission to higher headquarters based on yearly training guidance and training calendar.
