Degree that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position.

To qualify at the GS-07 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

Specialized experience must include the following:

1 year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement.
Superior Academic Achievement(SAA) is met through one of the following:
Ranked in the upper one-third of your graduating class; OR earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher out of 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript, or based on courses completed during final 2 years of curriculum; OR earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher out of 4.0, based on the average of required courses completed in your major or required courses in your major completed during the final 2 years of curriculum; OR election to membership in a national scholastic honor society.

Specialized experience
must include the following:
- Applying the principles, theories, concepts and practices of early childhood development encompassing infant through school age youth;
- Developing curricula, covering physical, emotional, social and cognitive development;

- Assisting child development center staff by documenting observations and assessments, evaluating classroom environments, Reviewing weekly activity plans, and providing additional training when needed;
- Providing training to staff and providers so they can ensure classroom and activity area compliance with fire, safety, and sanitation rules and instructions.
OR
2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree
or master's
or equivalent graduate degree.
Have a combination of directly related work experience and graduate level education. Combinations of successfully completed graduate education as described above and specialized experience as described above may be used to meet the total qualification requirements.
Combination of Graduate Education and Professional Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Only graduate level education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be combined with experience.
