TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-05 LEVEL YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) in Federal Service that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of a Transportation Assistant, GS-05. Specialized experience includes: processing request for reimbursement; maintaining fund control points; coordinating work operation; determining eligible for programs and/or services; reviewing requests; ensuring compliance with regulations; applying knowledge of various types of transportation options and routes available to customers; maintaining records; and providing professional customer service to customers.
NOTE: Your experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week. -
OR-
EDUCATION: Have successfully completed four (4) years above high school in any field which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained at an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university

OR-
COMBINATION: Have an equivalent combination of successfully completed post-high school education (beyond the second year) and specialized experience, as described above, which meet the total qualification requirements for this grade level. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-5) in the Federal Service that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of a Transportation Assistant at the GS-6 level. Qualifying specialized experience includes: balancing, reconciling, and adjusting invoices; arranging modes of transportation for individuals; reviewing travel authorizations and vouchers; preparing correspondence concerning travel eligibility; applying knowledge of various types of transportation options and routes available to customers; and providing professional customer service to customers. NOTE: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Your experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.

Physical Requirements: The work is usually sedentary and involves sitting comfortably to accomplish most tasks. No special physical demands are required. Incumbent will be exposed to stressful working situations that require a professional attitude and collective reasoning. The incumbent is subject to a high volume of work, the need for accuracy, frequency of interruptions and ever-changing demands due to program changes.
