You may qualify at the GS-07, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector:
- Applying knowledge of Defense-related policies, priorities, and regulations to support mission objectives and global travel operations;
- Overseeing all aspects of travel management, including coordinating official passports and visas.
OR
B. Possess a bachelor's degree AND meet Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) which is based on: (1) Class Standing - Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses; OR (2) Grade-Point Average (G.P.A.) - Applicants must have a grade-point average of either (a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on your official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or (b) 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; OR (3) Honor Society Membership - Applicants may be considered eligible based on membership in one of the approved national scholastic honor societies listed by the Association of College Honor Societies (https://www.achsnatl.org/). (Note: You must attach a copy of your official transcripts.); OR
C. Possess at least one full year of graduate level education. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. (Note: You must attach a copy of your official transcripts.); OR
D. Possess a combination of the experience as described in A (but less than a year) AND the education described in C (but less than the requirement). This may be computed by first determining the total qualifying experience possessed as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the education possessed as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for that grade level.
You may qualify at the GS-09, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector:
- Applying comprehensive knowledge of travel regulations, financial management regulations, and security protocols to support joint operations;
- Managing travel processes through defense travel systems, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and clearance procedures;
- Overseeing passport and visa coordination;
- Processing country clearances and managing automated systems for personnel tracking, antiterrorism planning, and isolated personnel reporting.
- Facilitating secure electronic fund transfers and ensuring effective management of security assistance networks and related operations; OR
B. Have a masters or equivalent degree or 2 full years of progressively higher graduate education leading to such a degree, or LLB or JD from an accredited college or university; OR
C. Possess a combination of the experience as described in A (but less than a year) AND the education described in B (but less than the requirement). This may be computed by first determining the total qualifying experience possessed as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the education possessed as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for that grade level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
