Summary

This position is located at the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites operation at NAS Lemoore. The purpose of this position is to perform facilities maintenance work involving two or more of the skilled trades. Incumbent performs intermediate level tasks and works more independently as training and experience increase.

Duties

  • Ensures security of all guests is maintained at all times.
  • Ensures guest privacy is maintained at all times.
  • Responsible for a variety of semi skilled and unskilled tasks involving standard methods related to the operation and maintenance of physical plant facilities.
  • Makes basic plumbing repairs to sinks, faucets, commodes, tanks, urinals, P-traps, shut off valves on washing machines and water supply that can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, resealing, replacing defective parts or units, installing water heaters, garbage disposals, faucets and sinks.
  • Recognize the cause of faulty equipment and make repairs on a variety of HVAC units as appropriate.
  • Recognize and report electrical problems.
  • Measure, cut and construct or repair wood or wood substitute items.
  • Preparation of areas and standard coating methods such as brushing, rolling, and spraying to ensure surfaces are fully coated, protected and free from drips and runs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must have ability to perform moderately strenuous physical labor as unassisted lifting, moving and carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 45 lbs (100 lbs assisted)

A qualified candidate must possess:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with demonstrated skill in two areas (Carpentry, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Painting).
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations concerning procedures, tools, mechanical and electrified equipment, commonly used chemicals and basic safe work practices is required.
  • Must possess a welcoming manner and positive attitude; demonstrate effective communication skills; professionally interact with guests; answering guest questions concerning hotel facilities; and provide information about local atrtractions.
  • Provide assistance in handling customer complainnts, involving management as necessary.
