Join Our Team as a Urologist at the Sioux Falls VA Medical Center

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Urologist to provide exceptional care to our Veterans, aligned with the Surgery/Specialty Care Service. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in both inpatient and outpatient settings, contributing to our Whole Health System approach aimed at enhancing the well-being of our Veterans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform basic urologic procedures such as cystoscopy, ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy, transurethral resections, and more.
  • Evaluate and treat patients with a variety of urologic disorders in clinic settings.
  • Provide consultations in both inpatient and outpatient situations.
  • Respond to patient inquiries, manage test results, renew prescriptions, and offer phone or email advice to other providers.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records using the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of medical equipment and adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Participate in staff education, patient, and family education, including informed consent processes.
  • Engage in performance improvement activities and support administrative functions.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine.
  • Full, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory.
  • Completion of residency training in an accredited specialty training program, eligible for board certification.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm
