Relocation: Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid. All travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the sole responsibility of the selected employee.
Physical Demands: Work assignments typically require moderately heavy physical effort to lift, carry, or otherwise handle items typically weighing 40-50 pounds. Duties may require working from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms; frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching and stooping, etc. The work often requires standing, stooping, sitting, kneeling, bending, twisting, climbing, walking, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, carries, and sets up parts and equipment that weigh up to 50 pounds. The work is done inside and outside where dirt, spray, chemicals, fumes, and confined space conditions are present. Also required to work in adverse weather and/or wear protective equipment and clothing. Will work in weather temperatures 0 to 100 degrees and other outdoor exposure includes but not limited to biting and stinging insects and other wildlife found in natural areas. Required to work Holidays and may be subject to overtime and possibly nighttime work.
Working Conditions: Work is both indoors and outdoors in prevailing weather conditions. May be exposed to biological hazards or diseases while cleaning equipment or shoveling sludge, and hazardous gases such as methane, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, and carbon monoxide. May also be subject to electrical shock, loud noises, acids, and hydraulic fluids while working around motors and pumps; there is also exposure to shock, burns, and strains. Required to follow prescribed safety practices and use safety equipment such as face shields, gloves, hard-toe shoes, respirators, and protective clothing that may be uncomfortable to wear. Required to attend and participate in safety meetings and training and review and follow safety regulations and policies. May be required to operate motor vehicles, mowers, trimmers and heavy engineering equipment.
