Duties
The U.S. Coast Guard Academy seeks JDA interest for Visiting Faculty positions in the Department of Government and/or Department of Culture and Languages. JDA will teach college courses in subjects of their interest that align with dept needs, mentor cadets, and participate in co-curricular activities (clubs. trips etc.)that develop cadets while exposing them to fields/missions of JDA specialist interest.
Conditions of Employment
- Must be a current permanent Federal employee

- Must NOT have any pending/outstanding disciplinary actions
- Must have achieved a minimum of "meet expectations/proficiency" on latest performance appraisal/evaluation

- The program does not apply to members of the Military service or contractors.
Qualifications
Qualifications required:
- Master's Degree in field related to teaching discipline: depending on the member's interest, it could be languages, cultural studies, political science, security, international affairs, law. Member must possess interest in teaching and mentoring, with experience operating in educational/training environment, and demonstrated proficiency in supporting DEI initiatives and diverse working groups.
