There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) WELDING WORKER~ without more than normal supervision. Ability to do the work of a(n) ~ without more than normal supervision. have the ability to perform common Welding Worker duties. I am skilled performing apprentice welder duties using electric, acetylene and/or inert gas shielded welding processes. I can assist journeyman with fabrication and welding of pressure pipe. I can use templates, jigs, blueprints and other guides to repair, modify, or fabricate metal items for all types of equipment. Make a wide range of welds from simple to precision welding; determining disassembly or repair necessary, and materials to be used. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

- Physical Effort: The work involves standing, walking, stooping, climbing, crawling, and sometimes working in cramped and awkward positions. Incumbent frequently handles, lifts, or carries parts or equipment that weighs up to 50 pounds. Occasionally lifting objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds with the aid of lifting devices/other employees to set up work and equipment needed to complete tasks.
- Working Conditions: The work is done indoors and outdoors, sometimes in bad weather. Incumbent is subject to noise, dirt, smoke, fumes, heat, sparks, and the glare of torches and heated materials. There is possibility of eye injury, electrical shock, burns, broken bones, and the chance of cuts when working with sharp objects. There is discomfort from wearing protective equipment such as goggles, welding helmets, face shields, aprons, gloves or other protective clothing or equipment.
