Tour of duty for this position is: 1st Shift (Day) Position
This is an Essential-Employee Position. The employee will be required to report to work during emergencies AND inclement weather situations.
Work schedule may require some occasionally mandatory overtime on holidays AND weekends.
Responsibilities:
Uses a wide knowledge of wood supplies and precision woodworking methods and their alternatives to plan and lay out their work from specifications, blueprints, rough sketches, and verbal instructions, taking into consideration the tooling, durability, cost, strength, and appearance characteristics of a variety of softwoods, hardwoods, plywood, veneers, and wood substitutes for projects.
Participate in pre-construction demolition projects.
Selects, cuts, turns, shapes, joins, bonds, fits, assembles, and decorates wooden materials and parts, using the full range of hand and power woodworking tools, machines, and techniques to create superior and structurally reliable woodwork which requires exact fitting and close weight, pressure, and size tolerances to construct specialty furniture.
Responsible for building high-grade cabinetry, furniture, woodwork and sculptures via Computer Numerical Control (CNC) to saw and shape.
Creates Designs by using Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Technology.
Designs plans and specifications utilizing websites, such as Google Sketch-Up to create rare furniture for Congressional Member.
Work on projects involving high levels of technical complexity, assignment and delivery.
Utilize knowledge of and compliance with all OSHA safety rules and regulations to ensure that work progresses in a safe manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
