Physical
The Incumbent must be physically agile and able to perform tiring tasks including climbing, stooping, bending, standing or walking for long periods of time. They must be able to assume awkward or uncomfortable positions while performing duties and be able to frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds. The incumbent may lift heavier items with assistance. Exercises normal dexterity and must have normal visual acuity and hearing, correction is acceptable. Obtain and maintain material handling licenses required to facilitate the transport of containerized material up to 15,000 lbs.
Working Conditions
Duties are carried out in shop areas, confinements, partially enclosed areas, platforms, and outdoors. The incumbent may be exposed to a wide variety of climates and elements and is frequently exposed to loud noises from power equipment, saws, mechanized machinery and hand tools as well as electrical shock hazards. The incumbent is often exposed to nose and lung irritation from sawdust and fumes, skin abrasions, cuts, splinters and other injuries from airborne particles. They shall use personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves and hearing protection as required.

Drug-Free Workplace Policy
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is committed to maintaining a safe, drug-free workplace. All DLA employees are required to refrain from illegal drug use on and off duty. DLA conducts pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and random drug testing.
Applicants tentatively selected for employment in testing designated positions will undergo a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Refusal to undergo testing or testing positive for illegal drugs will result in withdrawal of the tentative job offer and a six-month denial of employment with DLA from the date of the drug test. Employees in drug testing designated positions are subject to random drug testing.
The DLA drug testing panel tests for the following substances: marijuana, cocaine, opiates, heroin, phencyclidine, amphetamines, methamphetamines, fentanyl, norfentanyl, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA), and opioids.
ADVISORY: Use of cannabidiol (CBD) products may result in a positive drug test for marijuana. DLA employees are subject to Federal law and under Federal law, Marijuana is a Schedule I drug and is illegal.
