Clinic Operations Supervisor – Asheville, NC – \$65,557 to \$85,230 per year

About the Role The Charles George VA Medical Center is looking for an experienced leader to oversee clinic operations and patient support services. As the Clinic Operations Supervisor, you will manage front-line staff who coordinate check-ins, scheduling, and patient flow across multiple outpatient clinics. Your leadership will ensure Veterans receive timely, seamless care while supporting an efficient and patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide medical support staff across multiple clinics.
  • Oversee daily staffing, adjust assignments, and ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Monitor clinic workload trends and plan for staffing, space, and resources.
  • Ensure appointments, consults, imaging, and specialty procedures are scheduled and supported.
  • Develop contingency plans for appointment changes or staffing shortages.
  • Lead staff meetings, training sessions, and process improvements.
  • Standardize administrative procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Provide orientation and guidance to clinical staff on scheduling policies and procedures.
  • Manage resources effectively, including forecasting budget and equipment needs.
  • Promote patient safety through proper identification and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship.
  • At least one year of experience supervising or leading medical support staff in an outpatient or inpatient care setting.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage staff performance, scheduling, and training.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service.
  • Experience managing budgets, staffing plans, and resource needs.
  • Proficiency with clinic operations, scheduling systems, and administrative procedures.
  • Education/experience combination: six months of administrative or customer service work, or one year of education above high school may substitute for entry-level requirements.
